Weather

Well above freezing up above treeline by mid-morning. The approach road and bridge over the river were good and frozen this morning.

Snowpack

When crossing pumphouse NTL, the path averaged 250cm and tapered down to 180 along the edges. There is an obvious hard interface down 50-90cm below the second dust layer from the top. This layer had propagating results down 85 on our ECT on the NNE face NTL. HS at the ECT site was 185cm. The slab above the weak layer was largely 4f to 1f. The NNE surfaces had a light wind crust and the snow in the top 30 was still dry NATL. The snow started to feel wet around 11,200 on North. By noon the ENE flats were fully wet and unsupportable.

Avalanche

A small slab broke naturally in the last 24 hours in the Sultan upper cirque below some rocks.
