Weather
Blustery conditions above treeline. Winds were moderate to strong from the west and continued to load what little snow was left onto east facing slopes.
Snowpack
The snowpack is similar to what I've seen in other parts of the zone. I dug just below ridgetop on an east aspect. The snowpack was 110cm deep with the bottom half comprised of weak facets. The upper slab that has formed above these weak layers was 1 finger hard and failed easily in stability tests. I had 2 ECTP at 12 taps on the same weak layer just below the upper slab. Not a great set up for this incoming storm.
Avalanche
There was evidence of an old avalanche along the main ridge, but it was super hard to tell how wide it broke or how deep.
