Weather
Broken skies with a couple light flurries. Ridgetop winds were quite breezy and helped keep snow surfaces cool.
Snowpack
Lower elevation aspects are cooked and crusty. I was surprised to see how much snow has been lost in this part of the zone since the last time I was here a few weeks ago. Looking around at Baldy, leeward east-facing chutes are still holding ample snow, but ridges and other exposed features are back to bare rock. In the alpine, the old snow surface is a mixed bag of crusts and hard surfaces of different densities. We'll see how this next round of snow bonds, especially on steeper slopes.
