Snowpack

Quick afternoon tour. The snowpack was very wet and unsupportable below treeline on all aspects. I was easily able to push my ski pole to the ground. As I gained elevation the snow transitioned and became less wet and more supportable. North facing slopes near treeline had not become wet but had settled and become moist enough that making a snowball was easy. Just 3 or 4 inches below the surface snow the snow as still relatively dry but again, easy to make a snowball with. On a northeast facing slope I dug to the ground and found a strong snowpack. I saw 2 layers where meltwater was pooling above crusts and saturating the layer. Stability results did not produce any alarming results.
