High temp today was about 25 but it felt much warmer with abundant sunshine.
Snowpack
Top few cms of snow became moist on southerly slopes but no rollerballing observed. These slopes will have a surface crust tomorrow.---I dug on an east and southeast-facing slope at the upper-end of the below treeline elevation. Height of snow is about 175 cm. Similar structure on both slopes except the buried melt-freeze crust (about 80 cm down) on the southeast slope was about 2 cm thick and very hard. The crust on the east slope was much thinner and hard to detect. On the east-facing slope I performed a Propagation Saw test (PST) and got a result of 60/100 END on the above-mentioned crust. The same test showed a result of 30/100 END on basal facets about 40 cm from the ground. On the southeast-facing slope I got no propagating results in an ECT. When I removed half of the slab and continued to pound on the column I got a result on the facets under the crust. A similar result on this layer in a PST as the first slope.
