Warm and realtivley calm with overcast cloud cover at the start of my tour. It became scattered by midday.
Snowpack
The snow depth at the Lone Tree Bowl start zone (9700') was 85cms. At the road summit at 8770' the snow depth is 80cms. A lenghty dry spell ended with snowfall burying the weak layer on January 5th. Since January 5th I measured 2.65" of snow water equivalent at the weather plot near the SnoTel by the road summit. Today near the Lone Tree Bowl start zone I measured 2.7" of snow water equivalent on top of the weak layer. Ski penetration was 5cm and boot penetration was 55 cms
Avalanche
A small avalanche occured from the Short Cut Bank path that reached the ditch on Sunday (1/21)
