Snowpack

HS of 107. Large surface hoar crystals formed the previous night. Buried surface hoar layer from most recent storm at 77-75 cm from ground was sensitive. We were able to produce several collapses on this layer on similar aspects, notably on convexities. These crystals were large (up to 20 mm) and fragile. We were unable to find this layer on a S aspect just the day before, and the winds that came in with the previous storm would have destroyed this layer above treeline before it could be buried.
