Weather

Warm temps and light winds with broken skies in the morning becoming overcast by midday.

Snowpack

We observed moist snow surfaces on solar aspects below treeline and refrozen crust 1 cm thick on east and southeast-facing slopes steeper than 30 degrees in the afternoon. A near treeline pit on a northwest aspect showed propagating extended column test results that failed 35cm down from the surface. Slopes below treeline are mostly weak and unless they were affected by the wind didn't have the ability to propagate wide where we traveled.

Avalanche

Many large avalanches were observed on the drive over Red Mountain Pass and ski on north to east to south facing slopes that ran yesterday. (pictures in observations from yesterday) No avalanches were observed today.
