Spent the night at HM for thanksgiving, was able to start skinning from 1700m. From 1800m and below, the sun was warm and radiant, and above 2000m, the change in elv. was evident with temps hovering around -7 to -10 overnight, leaving the snow extra light and fluffy still. At camp, snow depth was observed around 40cm and the top 10 HS. Not quite enough coverage obviously for quality turns, and plenty of rocks lurking below! -definitely a premature ski outing. Walked back down, retracing the summer trail, back to the parking. (To avoid absolute rock damage) Moderate Northerly winds were also observed at ridges and tops.
