On AST 1 class we dug a pit at 1610 meters on North east wind loaded face. We had reactions on compression test s at 40 and 100 cm CTM12 down 40 SP on surface hoar CTM18 down 100 SP on surface hoar sitting on top of a large layer 40-60 cm of facets of 3-4 mm Did two ECTH26 down 100 on surface hoar on same layer Did propagation saw test at 100 cm which reacted when was cut half way through. Be ware of wind loaded slops and watch out for persistent weak layers at 40 and 100 cm down.
