Weather
Beautiful day with cold morning temps disappearing by mid-day. 1" of very low density snow was getting warm but not wet on sunny aspects. Calm winds at ridgeline with no snow transport.
Snowpack
Some very small, localized collapses were observed on south and southeast aspects as I moved through the near-treeline band up the ridge. I dug on a southeast aspect to investigate. A thin crust/facet layer was present and reactive in stability tests but the slab above it was thin and not a big concern at this time. Below this layer, the mid-pack slab was still relatively strong and supportable and the weak facets at the bottom continue to gain strength. For the most part, there were few layers of concern in this area. See the attached profile for more information.
