Snowpack
The new snow in this area so far lacked cohesion from 10-500 to 13K on a Southwest aspect. There was a small cornice line forming on the ridgeline but was generally unreactive to our weight. This aspect held a stout (Pencil hard) 1-2" melt-freeze crust at the old snow interface which proved to be a slick bed surface for the new snow but very supportive to ski travel. Overall height of snow averaged about 45cm.
Avalanche
Two Dry-Loose naturals and one skier triggered Dry-loose that picked up a decent amount of mass and running distance on SW aspect ATL
