Remote triggers galore

We remote triggered probably 20+ small (sz1-1.5) storm slabs going up the snowshoe trail to Pump Peak and a short way down the rib to the W of the peak. The largest of these propagated about 30m, with a crown of 15-20+cms. All of the slides appeared to slide at the interface between the latest MF crust and the new storm snow. These slides were triggered from anywhere from 15-40m away, and often sympathetically triggered other small slides nearby. All started on small convexities on steeper slopes (40+ degrees, often steeper). We ski cut a few lower angled (35*) convexities with some cracking but no other results. Hand shears showed a poor bond between the storm snow and the crust, with easy planar fractures. The slides appeared to mostly occur on northerly slopes, though poor visibility may have hidden others. We spoke with a party who went up the south face of the peak who said that they saw no signs of avalanche activity there. Perhaps the windward slopes hadn't yet reached threshold levels of storm snow. New storm snow accumulated more than expected, and it was snowing hard (S3) for the few hours that we were out, so that may change soon.
