We took our skis for a walk and dug three test pits with varying results. One went on 3 medium hits, one went on 2 hard, and the other not at all. The first two both broke unevenly, but below the rain crust. Rain crust was @40cm down. Snow below crust was heavily faceted and not bonded to the bed surface. I would not feel comfortable skiing steep slopes at this time. Luckily, there’s nothing worth skiing out there!
