Avalanche
A small Storm Slab avalanche on the North Face of Ptarmigan Hill, or Avalanche Bowl, was triggered on the afternoon of Feb 26 by a snowboarder. Several groups of riders had descended the terrain in the hours prior to the avalanche, and more skiers and riders descended the slope after the avalanche as well. It is not known if the rider was caught. No injuries were reported. On the morning of Feb 27, an additional slide was remotely triggered from the upper skiers right side of the path. This 2nd avalanche propagated into the deep snowpack on the skiers left hand side and released an avalanche that went to the ground in many places. D2R3
