Weather

Clear. Arctic temps in the AM, warming up to -5.0C. Saw big plumes from NW winds on most high ridges before 9:00a. Mostly calm w/ a few light NW gusts mid-morning 500ft off the valley floor. Light S wind in the valley by 15:00.

Snowpack

HS averaged 120cm w/ over 150cm in places. HST now 25-35cm from the past week. Surface is mostly light unaffected snow or soft wind texturing. In isolated areas mid-slope recent snow was overlying 10cm of 1F+ old slabs sitting on 4F facets. Slightly variable older windslab felt while skiing on the lower pitches of the rib below the Nose. Found a few areas of stiffer fresh windslabs on lowest steep rolls. Here a ski cut pulled out a very small, shallow pocket on a +35° slope.
