Weather
Blue skies and strong winds coming from north, north west. Gusting in the morning and dying out in e early afternoon. Increasing at altitude.
Snowpack
Pit at entrance area to glacier knobs, above nymph lake. 38/40 degree slope, 12 inches snow depth. To two inches solid wind slab. Frozen at ground level with facets. Difficult to hold steady to dig pit due to frozen ground. No failures produced from tests. Variable conditions climbing through trees on south west end of Haiyaha lake, areas of wind slab, small cracks propagating from skins. Surface too solid to break through in sections. Areas of 1 to 2 foot wind distributed powder. Areas of wind slab with convexities breaking off and easily sliding.
