Weather

Very low visibility, obscured clouds cover above 11,000 feet. Above 11,000feet on NE aspect wind was 10-15mph and gusts to 25mph. Moderate blowing snow, some graupel falling with new snow. Weather clearing to mostly cloudy by 1300 hours.

Snowpack

Latest storm left variable wind crust, from pencil hardness above treeline, 2 inches thick in non-sheltered areas, to 4 finger hardness at treeline and 4-6 inches thick. No major signs of cracking or instabilities seen, a few steep unsupported slopes cracked a couple feet in front of my skis on new windslab layer.

Avalanche

None seen.
