Snowpack
Must have snowed a few inches yesterday/last night. We got somewhat of a late start. Left TH at 7:25, reached summit at 10:25. Back at car at 11:35. E face of St Vrain was firmish top 200 vert, then a mix of new snow patches (wind blown but creamy) interspersed with spring wettish snow (not really corn). Pretty good skiing although transition between the patches kept us on our toes. Right at treeline snow was very wet and "sucking" on our skis. Expected to see the dust layer but buried enough beneath last weeks snow that we didn't see it. At one point a puched my pole in as far as I could and it only penetrated the wettish snow about 2-3 inches at about 11,500k/held up by firm layer. Ski penetration was never more than an 1 inch or so. this slope is unde 30 degree so we didn't spend the time digging pit or getting more snowpack info
