Snowpack

Between 2 to 5 inches of new snow sit on top of frozen melt-freeze crusts. The upper portion of the snowpack is frozen within the top 5 to 10 inches from the snow surface on terrain near and above treeline. Moist snow under the surface melt-freeze crust was evident on north facing terrain near and below treeline. Above treeline the surface melt-freeze crust sits on drier snow. Limited but strong sunshine today did melt surface snow on southerly aspects.
