Snowpack

The snowpack still varies significantly with aspect, elevation, and even slope angle. Last week's storm snow has generally settled and bonded to the dirty old snow surface. Though wind slabs up to 1' thick formed over a hard crust in some areas last week, they are gradually losing cohesion and becoming less reactive to skier triggering. The deeper snowpack is moist to wet in some areas, especially near treeline, but is mostly draining pretty well. It was mostly refrozen and contained percolation tubes at higher elevations.
