The mid January crust could be found down 40 cm up to about 1800m on North aspects. A thinner crust could be found down 20cm in the middle of the storm snow and the settling soft slab above this layer continued to pop in hand shear tests through out the day. Evidence of wind transport could be seen on exposed slopes so we stayed off wind effected terrain but really enjoyed the skiing in steep open glades. The weather was warm through out the day and the top 10cm of the snow pack was moist up to about 1500m by the end of the day.
