Rugged skiing with 5cm of dry snow over a supportive crust above 1600m in shaded areas. Below 1600m was a supportive crust and frozen avalanche debris. Crust unsupportive in sun exposed areas and in a closed canopy below 1400m.

Overall a consolidated snowpack with temperature consistently near zero throughout, and moist snow from surface to ground. Old crust visible down 60cm, and is rounding. Compression test failure was just below the near surface melt freeze crust.
