we skied off an unnamed ridge between dolomite and cirque right above katherine lake. noticed some whumpfs and shooting cracks on the uptrack and decided to ski a small mellow slope along the ridge. wind-affected and thin in some spots in the alpine; ok in the trees but still early-season conditions. observed a natural size 2 on the south ridge of cirque peak in steep terrain below ridge crest. Looks like a cornice failure triggered windslab.
