Hard packed and very icy trail up the tight trees to Stadium glacier. Ski crampons saved our ascent up to 1500m where we found softer snow and gentler slopes. 25 cm of dry snow sitting on a hard rain crust allowed us to climb to CoPilot / SkyPilot Col. A few trees and rocks near the summit were covered with ice, which forced us to bootpack the last 50m. Hard and old wind slabs were found in the immediate lee of the col. Creamy turns down on sheltered north facing slopes. Short but sweet run. Ski hill moguls and survival skiing back to the Sky Pilot trail. No new avalanches observed but evidence of old loose wet avalanche at lower elevations.

Snowpack

Test profile on open roll below Sky Pilot peak. Compression test gave a hard (CTH21) result within decomposed / fragmented snow on a melt-freeze crust down 25 cm. Another crust is found down 67 cm but not significant result on this today.
