Skied the Dolomite Circuit from West to East (clockwise) today. Easy travel along a skin track highway up to Katherine Ridge. The East slopes of Katherine Ridge had a fairly supportive windcrust, with faceting taking place from ground up - approximately 40cm deep. No real interface for instability at this point. Once we moved into the undulating North slopes of Dolomite Peak, we experience severe settling and variable wind affect. At this point we steered clear of steep slopes and convexities. While it is still not incredibly filled in, there are safe options for travel. The Eastern slopes of the Peak offered less wind affected snow, although the majority of traffic in this area is here. It seemed like it was incredibly busy up there today, so we were happy to be traveling through once everyone had cleared out. Didn't spend any time assessing snow conditions here... A fun luge track through the trees puts you out at the road!
