Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Spent 3 days at Tukga Hut. Wednesday there was ~30cms of new snow on a supportive crust. This layer was reactive to finger taps in a pit on south facing aspect around 800m at Sevenmile Saddle. Also heard large whumphs on flat ridge tops. We stuck to low angle trees. Thursday there were strong 40km/hr southerly winds all day that scoured the ridge top and redistributed significant volumes of snow. On Friday the route down was a mix of wind slab and wind scour. No avalanches or signs of instabilities were observed.
