Beautiful night camping at circlet and summit of Albert Edward via "the ramp". Great skinning snow on the way up and less than ideal conditions along the ridge (to be expected). Less crust & ice than expected! Beautiful weekend for it, get out there!

Hiked in Jan 20th to circlet. Heavy fog down in paradise meadows and cloudy higher in the mountains. Woke up to stars & clear skies on the 21st and stayed clear all day in the alpine with low cloud cover at about 1,300m.

Snow was soft on WNW aspects (1,500m) 10cm ski pen which made for easy skinning. Wind deposited snow on these aspects seemed to be very well bonded after these few days of low wind. Snow transitioned to heavily wind/sun affected on the ridge between AE and Jutland (1,600m). No instabilities found on the SSW-facing ridge on the way up Albert Edward.
