Very quiet day on Saturday around Shovelnose: only one other party that we saw at our exit, and one more that we mostly heard than see during the day. We drove with 4x4 and chains to around 1100m but nobody else made it that high. Surprisingly good snow overall with 20-40cm siting on top of the previously formed ice layer. This layer seems to be crumbling very easily and is not supportive at all. No signs of avis observed anywhere and we didn't dig a pit. We skied up to 30 degrees terrain on the side of Mt Fee ridge.
