Weather
Cold start to the day, around 12 degrees F in the parking lot. Slowly warming to the low 20's by around 1 PM. Sunny and warm when in the sun.
Snowpack
Snow was surprisingly good powder for it not having snowed for days. We didn't dig any pits or analyze the snowpack further. Surface hoar in the morning in shady areas.
Avalanche
We saw one small slab avalanche that had happened before we got there. The slope is short but steep at the top (maybe 38 degrees?). The fracture was over rocks at the top on the slope. There were quite a few tracks around the slide but we couldn't tell if the slide was skier triggered.
