Very warm (easily 40+), sunny, breezy in isolated locations
Snowpack
Coverage rapidly thinning on and just below ridge tops in area. Snowpack is consolidating rapidly, but bullet-hard wind crusts and sastrugi remain widespread.
Avalanche
Small loose-wet slides pervasive in upper gulch in steep areas near rock outcrops. Wet sluffs possibly triggered by skiers were observed in Snoopy’s backside. None were greater than D1. There was evidence of a large (R2-3, D2) slide on the south face of Machebeuf (Y Not chute) but it was difficult to tell age or avalanche type on quick glance. We triggered two large pinwheels below point 13,418 on 35-40 degree SE facing terrain between noon and 1:00.
