As we ascended the ridge west of lower Forest lakes, around 11,000' , it began to snow (less than 1cm per hour) with wind blowing from the northwest, visibility became very poor, so we chose to go down.
Avalanche
We made some ski cuts on a southeast face (off the ridge east of lower Forest Lakes) at about 11,000' and managed to trigger a few very small/small slides consisting of only fresh snow. On the way out, I noticed what appeared to be some small point release natural avalanches on a southerly facing aspect at around 10,300' near the East Portal trailhead.
