Weather
The sky was overcast until 1:00 pm, clearing almost completely by the end of the trip allowing ridgelines to come into view with no visible snow being transported. Temperatures were in the low teens.
Snowpack
The Lunch Spot, 10,400' Northeast. The total snow depth was 135 centimeters with 40 centimeters of new snow from early this week. There is a visibly distinct 1 centimeter layer of disturbed surface hoar and facets at the new and old snow interface. ECTN 22 at this layer. I could not produce other results deeper in the snowpack.
Avalanche
Two small (relative to path and destructive) soft slabs on the lookers left of Shooks Bowl. One appeared to be have been fresh within a few hours and triggered by a skier as they came into the rollover of the bowl. The second looked to be slightly older with roughly an inch of snow on the debris, unknown trigger. The avalanches were in the storm snow only, each crown was 12-14" deep and no more than 25' across
