Avalanche

Climbing up 2000' Ridge wanted to get away from the trees to gain elevation, entered open terrain pole probing for slab properties with none found. Continued up as a group of 7 with little concerns in the upper snowpack when a settlement cracked under 2 members of the group and released 15 metres below with a change in steepness and terrain released the soft slab. Should have spaced the group out in open terrain but triggering the remote slab might have been blessing as we probably would have rode that slope as the snow looked really really good. Retreated to tight ridge line trees and low angle terrain.
