Goatview attempt

Attempted to ski the couloir on Goatview peak visible from town today. Uptrack through the trees was long but fairly mellow and not too bushwacky, when we gained the second main bench and broke into the alpine we realized how socked in it was. We continued up a fairly mellow slope until gaining it onto a bench where we were below the main bowl and our objective. This area was a complete white out and we tried to wait out the cloud/fog incase it broke by digging a pit. We got no results until the 5th hit from the shoulder where we got a pop and drop around 110cm down (130cm total) the snow failed on a layer of moist facets. Combined with the poor vis and spooky ish layer we decided to bail and save it for a better day with better vis. Down low below the high Rockies trail there was also some isothermic snow.
