Interesting day of riding out at surprise pass. Weather was mild to start the morning (-4°C at 07:45) and warmed up significantly around noon (1°C at 12:00). Cloudy to start the day but clouds opened up for a beautiful blue sky in the late morning. Slope was baked from the sun and the boot pack up the the pass I definitely would recommend having crampons and ice axe as it’s quite difficult to kick in. No whumpfing or cracking observed crossing slide paths but be wary of sun blasting from later in the day. Run was very icy and had some sharks poking through. Expecting that it will ride very nice with the coming snow fall this week but be wary of sluffing. Overall beautiful views and a quick day. Enjoy the riding!
