Poke about. Dug a pit at crandell lake on flat sheltered spot. One voile shovel deep snow pack. Very low density powder on top of a progressively firmer snow until ice and sugar snow last 5ish cm about the ground. Basic ECT showed no results. Column just progressively broke apart, no pops, drops or slab I could pull off. Didn't ride anything for fear of destroying my gear and body
