The crust before the storm

Low elevations were bushy and exposed creeks were abundant. The cold new snow was falling and not sticking to the widespread hard crust from previous days. New storm rolled in and winds began to pick up as we headed home for the day.

Watched as the next storm rolled in with some wind and new snow.

2-10 cm of light new snow over a very firm and slippery crust (new snow is expected which will load the crust even more). Low elevations have little snow, while a bit of elevation gain sees things significantly improve as far as coverage goes.
