Warming in alp did not match forecast with temps at -5C during test pitting. Extreme variation in surface conditions from sastrugi, soft/mod/hard slad, surface facets, exposed melt-freeze crust. At pit site 161226 layer down 95cm. Top18--22cm pencil to one finger slab over 16cm 4 finger facetted decomposing forms. CTE 4-8 sudden planar down 18-22 on facets. CTM 12 sp down 28 on facets. Size 1 slabs, three skier accidentals observed all on S to SE asp above 2000m.
