We skied a single lap on the false summit of Observation from about 2500m. We started in a small chute feature but moved out of it and directly into the "old road gully" main draw after finding a denser wind slab as we headed into a steeper convex roll section. We then skied around the upper waterfall choke and through the second choke where the snow improved greatly for turns. The ski down the runout was good thanks to the firm crust found under the powder, you still need to watch for stumps and small trees here but the task is much easier as it is not bottomless facets this year. Cold at the road, very warm in the alpine.
