Quite breezy. Felt a lot colder than 45 degrees. The wind was keeping the snow cold. The snow surface was just beginning to soften in the study plot at 12 PM, and it was still supportable to boots.
Snowpack
With the exception of the northerly aspects of Lone Tree and Hairpin bowls,no continuous snowpack exists on the pass. Patches of bare ground are beginning to show in these last two big snowfields. There is no longer enough snow in the bowls to produce an avalanche that would reach the road.
