West wind picked up in mid-afternoon, transporting a lot of snow, completely filling in up-tracks between laps. Avalanche occurred during this period.
Avalanche
Avalanche was on the NE shoulder of Pt. 12,109. Crown was at about 11,700; avalanche appeared to only run a couple hundred feet, but hard to see details because wind transport of snow was so significant that crown and debris was already getting covered up within an hour or so. Avalanche was probably natural, but coincidentally a group of a few skiers passed underneath slope (and below the visible extent of debris) in same time period.
