Snowpack
Quick, late afternoon jaunt in Washington Gulch. Several intense snow squalls moved through with near whiteout conditions in between small sucker holes of blue sky. Not much wind in the valley bottom, but several gusts were blowing snow from trees. Blowing snow at ridge line could be seen during brief periods of visibility. Measured 55cm of storm snow at 10,000ft in the valley bottom! Unfortunately there is a pronounced dust layer at the bottom of this storm snow.
