Our storm arrived a bit later than expected but with plenty of punch thus far. Snowfall finally picked up between 3 & 4 am. Snowfall rates ramped up rapidly and are expected to continue with heavy wet snow today. Currently in Silverton @0430: Overcast; HN24 - 2 " large wet flakes; Winds- light in town but windy elsewhere; Temp 33F. Current on Passes: Conditions are deteriorating with the RMP plows reporting heavy snow and very poor visibility. As of the 0300 update from weather sites and study plots there was only about 1" everywhere. Currently suspect we are up to 2-3 inches by now. Weather Stations @ 0400: Many of our wx sites are not reporting due to communication problems. Sorry for the inconvenience. Kendall (above Silverton): SE/20's G50's PG 78 @0300 (when the storm picked up). RH 95% Temp 20F. Molas Pass: SSW/teens G30's-40 PG40. Eagle: SE/35-48 G50's - 80's. PG 89. RH 92% Temp dropping to 19F.
