Weather

Cool and calm with overcast skies in the morning, with increasing NW winds and snow throughout the day. 2PM at the car there was substantial solar heating despite full cloud cover

Snowpack

We traveled on NW-N-NE slopes below and near treeline. We found HS 125-150cm, with the 02/22 inteface most concerning. Generally, this interface involved 0.5mm DF over 1.5mm FC. Widespread rumbling whumphs, shooting cracks, and catastrophic collapses.

Avalanche

Observed one R3D1 avalanche on a small slope above the skin track around 11,000'. The slide only ran about 20' but propagated around 100' wide on the 02/22 interface.
