Snowpack

Rapid loading Saturday night with 10-12" snow and strong sw winds. Cross-loading on south facing terrain features. South aspects comprised of a weak crust/facet combo near the ground topped with a gradually increasing, widespread storm slab.

Avalanche

"Ophir rd. west" slid naturally to the creek, probably early Sunday morning. This is the middle of the three south-facing paths that cross the Ophir pass road on the silverton side. Could not see start zone.
