Snowpack

A quick snowpack test halfway up the headwall at Hidden Valley in RMNP provided two fracture results. One fracture 7cm below surface snow while cutting column. (ECTPV) Firm, wind compacted snow on surface sitting on facets. Witnessed minor cracking while skinning from this surface layer. Second fracture was approximately 25cm above ground on the 5th shoulder tap. ECTP25. Cohesive slab broke cleanly (Q1) at this 25cm above ground layer. Aspect: E Elevation: Above treeline
