High thin clouds covered most of the sky. Calm winds are unusual for this location.

Snowpack

Little snow remains on Douglas Pass, and this does not seem likely to change in the near future. The south side of the pass was almost completely bare dirt with just a little snow hanging on in the shadiest nooks and crannies. The north side has continuous snow cover but the average height of snow was well under a foot, with some bare patches.. Bushes, logs, rocks, etc were poking through in most areas. The snow on the north side was variable, with some areas well consolidated and others with several wind crusts sandwiching facets and melt forms. Thinner areas that got some sun were all melt forms.
