Snowpack

Areas not sheltered by trees had strong surface transport of snow creating a 2-3cm 4F windslab. Ascended skiers left skintrack to ridge. Many exposed areas of the track were completely filled in by wind and new snow. In the trees there was 10-14cm of low density storm snow. Skied far skiers left of the bowl in area sheltered from crossloading by treed ridge. Skiing was great with new snow on top of old crust. As soon as we descended past the sheltered section we encountered a breaker crust, and old tracks were very prominent. At the base we observed that the extensive transport of snow had already began to fill in the skintrack.
