Snowpack

On ascent noticed some really bad shooting cracks happening so stayed off steep stuff before the ridge. On descent, took one step with my snowshoe on ~25 degree slope and immediately a shooting crack goes ~100' left of me and 50' right of me. Crack width 3/4" in some places and looked quite deep. We descended a little more and noticed the crack had wrapped around the corner and that the other side of the face had avalanched off. Minor collapsing occurred on face that cracked.
